PI trades on a fairly short list of exchanges in 2026: OKX, Gate, Bitget and MEXC since the Open Network launched on 20 Feb 2025, Kraken since 13 Mar 2026, plus a tail of smaller venues. Binance, Coinbase and KuCoin are not on it. Which one is right for you depends less on brand and more on four boring things: how much PI actually trades there, whether your country is allowed, whether you can pay in and out in your own currency, and whether the platform supports Pi’s deposit memo.

This page compares the venues we could check against official announcements, says what we couldn’t confirm, and gives each a “best for” label with the reasoning behind it. For the step-by-step on opening an account and placing an order, go to how to buy Pi coin. For the dated listing history, including the rumors, see the Pi coin listing page.

Here is the live list, pulled from CoinGecko’s ticker data. Sort it in your head by volume.

Two things to notice. Volume is spread over many small venues, and every one of them is tiny compared with the roughly $0.94B market cap (CoinGecko, 7 Oct 2026). Total 24h volume that day was about $7.5M. And CoinGecko showed no trust score for any PI venue, which tells you aggregators themselves are cautious here.

How to choose a venue for PI

Start with liquidity, because it decides what price you actually get. On 7 Oct 2026 the biggest PI market by 24h USD volume was OKX’s PI/USDT at about $3.08M, followed by CoinUp.io (about $1.49M) and Gate (about $1.17M). Bitget was near $0.62M, MEXC about $0.15M, and Kraken’s PI/USD about $47K with PI/EUR about $13K. Volume swings daily, so use these as a ranking snapshot rather than a constant.

Next, country access. Exchanges restrict users by jurisdiction, and the PI pages say so. OKX’s announcement notes that not all products are available in all jurisdictions; Gate says users in some countries and regions can’t trade for compliance reasons and its Launchpool notice names UK users among the restricted; Kraken says geographic restrictions may apply. A venue with great volume is useless if your account can’t touch the pair.

Third, fiat in and out. A USD or EUR pair lets you go straight from your bank to PI and back. A USDT-only pair means you buy a stablecoin first, then trade it for PI, and reverse the process to cash out. Both work. One costs an extra step and an extra fee.

Fourth, memo support. PI runs on a Stellar-based network, where many exchanges give you a shared address plus a memo. Send without the memo and funds may be delayed or lost. Kraken documents this clearly and offers muxed addresses that carry the routing in the address itself. Whichever exchange you use, find its PI deposit page first and read the instructions before you ever send anything. The Pi wallet guide walks through the sending side.

Then the soft criteria: reputation, regulatory standing and how clearly the platform states its rules. Pi Network has said that exchanges and on-ramps must pass its KYB check and that users should rely on its official list of verified businesses. We could not open that list directly (the site blocked our check), so we’re not claiming any venue below is or isn’t on it.

The quick-facts table

Everything in the middle column below comes from an official announcement, a help page or CoinGecko on 7 Oct 2026. “Not confirmed” means we could not verify it on an official page.

Venue by venue

Profiles follow in rough order of PI volume, with the unverified bits flagged.

OKX: the volume leader

OKX opened PI deposits on 12 Feb 2025, ran a call auction, then started PI/USDT spot at 08:00 UTC on 20 Feb 2025, with withdrawals following on 21 Feb. The first minutes came with restrictions: no market orders and a $10,000 cap on order size and positions, a sensible brake on a new market. It also launched margin and perpetual products, and a separate OKX TR announcement covers Turkey (PI/USDT).

On 7 Oct 2026 it was the busiest PI/USDT book we could see, and CoinGecko also lists PI/USDC, PI/EUR and PI/TRY. A Whale Alert report says OKX opened PI access to US users on 21 May 2026 with USDT and USD pairs; that comes from a third-party outlet, and we could not find it on an OKX page, so treat it as unverified. Reports of delayed or paused withdrawals around launch also exist only in aggregator coverage. Best for: depth, if your country is supported.

Gate: broad products, regional limits

Gate listed PI/USDT spot at 08:00 UTC on 20 Feb 2025 and a USDT perpetual on the same day. Its notice says users in some countries and regions cannot deposit or trade, and the Launchpool notice names UK users as restricted. The notice points to a PI deposit page in the account area, which suggests mainnet deposits are supported. Gate’s pages return an error to automated checks, so we read the content through a summarising tool and would double-check wording by hand. Best for: users who want spot plus derivatives and live in a supported country; verify access before depositing.

Bitget: Innovation zone listing

Bitget put PI/USDT in its Innovation, Web3 and Public Chain zone, with trading from 08:00 UTC on 20 Feb 2025 and withdrawals from 09:00 UTC on 21 Feb. Its announcement advertised 0% card fees for new users, which was a promotion at the time; we can’t say what the card fee is today. Bitget’s PI volume on 7 Oct 2026 was about $0.62M. Best for: newcomers who want a card route, once they have checked the current fee.

MEXC: wide menu, shallow book

MEXC listed PI/USDT in its Innovation Zone on 20 Feb 2025, with deposits and withdrawals enabled on 22 Feb and a Convert feature from 21 Feb. It ran 30 days of zero spot fees to 22 Mar 2025 and had a pre-market before launch. Its notice tells users to use the Pi Mainnet network and links the official block explorer. By 7 Oct 2026 its PI volume was about $0.15M a day, so big orders will move the price. Reports of MEXC withdrawal suspensions come from third-party sources only. Best for: small trades and people who already use MEXC.

Kraken: fiat pairs, thin books

Kraken announced PI on 12 Mar 2026, and funding and trading went live on 13 Mar 2026. The blog says trading via the Kraken app and Instant Buy would follow “once the liquidity conditions are met” and that geographic restrictions may apply. CoinGecko lists PI/USD and PI/EUR. Its support page explains the memo rules: G addresses need a memo, M addresses don’t.

Liquidity is the catch. On 7 Oct 2026 PI/USD had about $47K of 24h volume and PI/EUR about $13K, which makes it a venue for tidy fiat access, not for size. Kraken’s blog states no PI-specific fiat terms, so confirm those in your account. Best for: EUR and USD users who value a well-known fiat exit over depth.

CEX.IO: regulated, but read the label

CEX.IO, founded in 2013, shows PI as a “Pi IOU” on its buy page and runs a custodial Pi wallet page. Its legal hub lists FinCEN MSB registration and state licences for the US entity (NMLS 1804170), and the UK entity is on the FCA’s cryptoasset register under FRN 1007192, which is an anti-money-laundering registration and not FCA authorisation. A MiCA application with Spain’s CNMV is pending. Those are the credible parts. The unclear part: its pages never mention real PI deposits or withdrawals, and we could not verify settlement terms. If you choose it, check what you are buying on the Pi IOU page before paying, and see our explainer on what a Pi IOU is. Best for: people who want a regulated on-ramp and accept the IOU wording after reading the terms.

BitMart and HTX: status unclear

BitMart reportedly suspended PI trading around late March 2025. A notice dated 19 Dec 2025 announces deposit and withdrawal support for PI with opening times “TBD”, and we could not confirm whether they opened. HTX is more tangled: it listed an old PI IOU spot market on 29 Dec 2022, then delisted it and converted holdings to USDT on 13 Feb 2025, saying it would list the new token after mainnet. We could not find an HTX page showing the relisting. Neither appears in the 7 Oct 2026 CoinGecko ticker list, consistent with inactivity but not proof. Best for: nobody until they publish something current.

Who isn’t on the list

Binance ran a ten-day community vote from 17 Feb 2025; reports put the support near 86% and Binance reportedly called the vote “for reference only”. As of 7 Oct 2026, no PI market appears on Binance’s price page. KuCoin’s own page says the asset is not officially listed. Coinbase: no listing or statement found. Bybit, Crypto.com, Upbit, Bithumb, CoinDCX and Indodax: no official listing found, status unverified. Spam sites regularly claim otherwise. The listing page tracks those claims.

Look-alike tokens and fake listings

A listing claim is cheap to fake and expensive to believe. Open the exchange’s own app or site, find the pair, and confirm deposits are open.

Fake PI and look-alike tokens

Search a PI market by its exact ticker and check the network and contract details on the exchange’s own page. Tokens with names like “Pi Inu” or “PiCoin” exist and have nothing to do with Pi Network. Pi’s Core Team has also said unofficial listings and IOU trading are not endorsed.

Practical tips

Match the venue to the job. If you are only buying a small amount, a fiat pair you can pay with beats a deep USDT book you can’t use. If you are selling more than a few hundred dollars, depth matters more than convenience, and our selling guide covers limit orders and splitting trades. If you plan to keep your coins, consider moving them to your own wallet; the options are compared on best wallets for Pi.

Keep a short checklist: pair live, deposits open, your country allowed, memo rules read, test transfer sent. And look at the price in context with the Pi coin price page, because prices differ a little between venues and the thinnest venues differ the most.

Frequently asked questions

Which exchanges list Pi coin?
As of 7 Oct 2026, CoinGecko shows PI trading on OKX, Gate, Bitget, MEXC, Kraken, LBank, CoinW, XT.COM and several smaller venues. Binance, Coinbase and KuCoin do not list it for spot trading based on what we could check. Listings change, so confirm on the exchange's own market page before depositing.
What is the best exchange for Pi coin?
It depends on what you need. On 7 Oct 2026 OKX had the largest PI volume of the venues we checked, Kraken is the notable one for USD and EUR pairs, and availability depends on your country. There is no ranking we can back with audited data, so compare volume, fiat options and your local access.
Is Pi coin on Binance?
No listing was found. Binance ran a community vote in February 2025 that favored PI, but it was non-binding and no spot market followed as far as we can tell. Treat any 'listed on Binance' post as unverified until you see the pair in Binance's own app. See the listing page for the timeline.
Is Pi coin on Coinbase?
We found no PI listing, vote or public statement from Coinbase. Its price page for Pi was not reachable to our checks, so we can't confirm that on an official Coinbase page, but PI does not appear in major spot ticker lists. Wait for an official Coinbase announcement.
Can we buy Pi coin with a credit card?
Some exchanges offer card purchases for supported assets, and Bitget advertised card purchases at its listing. Whether PI is available by card in your country, and at what fee, changes and could not be verified for every venue. Check the buy page on the exchange and compare the card fee with a bank transfer.
Does CEX.IO sell real Pi coin?
CEX.IO's own pages describe the asset as a Pi IOU, a placeholder for tokens. We could not confirm on those pages whether real PI can be deposited or withdrawn on-chain. Read the settlement terms before paying, and see our IOU page for how that label differs from real PI.
